The registration fee is ₹9,000 for Indian students. With prospectus (₹200) and student journal (₹200), total registration cost is ₹9,400. Add ₹1,500 exam form fee per attempt. Total first-time cost ≈ ₹11,300. Foreign students pay $700 registration + $325 exam fee.

Can I register for CA Foundation while still in Class 11?
No. You must have at least appeared for the Class 12 exam. Provisional registration is allowed only if your 12th results are awaited — not before you’ve sat for the boards.

How many times is the CA Foundation exam held per year?
Since June 2024, ICAI conducts CA Foundation 3 times a year — in May/June, September, and January. Previously it was twice a year (May and November).

Can a Science or Arts student do CA?
Yes! CA Foundation is open to students from all streams — Commerce, Science, and Arts. There is no stream restriction whatsoever.

What happens after passing CA Foundation?
You register for CA Intermediate (₹18,000 for both groups) and complete mandatory ICITSS training before starting Articleship. CA Inter has 6 subjects across 2 groups — you can attempt each group separately or together.

How long is CA Foundation registration valid?
CA Foundation registration is valid for 3 years (6 attempts). After expiry it cannot be revalidated — unlike Intermediate and Final. If you exhaust the validity, you’ll need to re-register from scratch.

What is the total time to become a CA after 12th?
The minimum is 4.5 years if every exam is cleared on the first attempt. This covers Foundation (6 months), Intermediate (8 months), Articleship (3 years), and CA Final. Most students take 5–7 years.

Is coaching mandatory for CA?
No. ICAI provides comprehensive study material. However, most students use coaching or a test series for structured practice. CharteredTeam’s expert-evaluated test series helps identify weak areas and sharpen exam writing skills.
